Once upon a time, in a valley where the fireflies lit up like tiny lanterns every evening, there lived a girl named Mia who believed, with every cell in her brave little body, that dinosaurs were still out there. Hiding, mostly. Just waiting for the right person to find them.
On the night the moon turned the color of a fresh peach, Mia's stuffed bunny Cotton sat up straight on the pillow and said, very seriously, "There's something glowing behind the mountain." Cotton only talked on important nights, so Mia pulled on her sparkle boots and didn't even hesitate.
Her dog Biscuit was already at the door, tail spinning like a helicopter. He had known about the mountain for weeks, but dogs are polite that way, they wait for you to be ready.
The path up Moonstone Mountain was made entirely of smooth purple pebbles that hummed softly under their feet. Halfway up, Mia discovered the source of the glow: a baby stegosaurus, no bigger than a golden retriever, sitting in a nest of moonflowers and quietly eating a fern.
